New Rule regarding shooting jackets for Vintage Military
matches at CCRPC.
Only lightweight shooting jackets may be used in VMBAR/VMSAR
matches. These jackets provide elbow, sling, and shoulder padding, but do
not provide significant additional stability for shooting in the standing
position. Allowed coats are those generally described as cloth or canvas
coats. No "Hardback", or "Heavy" shooting coats may be
used.
This rule is intended to allow shooters to participate
competitively with only a modest investment in equipment. The spirit of
the VMBAR/VMSAR matches is to compete with basically the same gear as an
infantry soldier. While we do allow additional equipment such as scopes
and mats, these items do not directly improve the shooter's ability.
Lightweight, heavy, and hardback coats may be used in our CMP
matches.
Rule added by Vintage Military Match Director, September 2008.
